The Dissident 2 was developed in collaboration with top athletes Loïc Bruni and Finn Iles to ensure that the next generation of the gravity full-face helmet meets the highest demands of downhill racing in terms of safety, state-of-the-art fit and ventilation.

Due to the five EPS foam inserts placed at key points, Specialized are able to increase or decrease the density of the foam depending on its position in the helmet, allowing them to maintain a low weight while controlling energy.

Softer foam density, for example, can absorb more energy in the event of an impact, transferring less energy to the rider. A lot of confidence can also be placed in the Dissident 2 because of the Mips Evolve Solution - this low-friction layer is designed to move easily inside the helmet to transfer forces away from the head. This version of MIPS® technology has fabric pockets inside the helmet to reduce creaking.

Keeping a cool head is more than a state of mind, and when things get hot, it's easy to lose your cool - especially when your head feels like it's in a sauna. To prevent this, the focus was not on more ventilation openings, but on better ones. The ventilation system of the Dissident 2 was developed according to the inside-out principle and has a large air intake behind the visor, which directs a cool air flow inwards, as well as specifically placed vents that allow warm air to flow outwards - keeping your head cool and your thoughts focused in any situation.

It was important to Specialized to design a lightweight helmet. Because during the race on the track, the feeling of lightness and agility leads to faster reactions and less fatigue. Thanks to the EPS foam inserts, the helmet remains very light and still offers great protection.
